Well, it's official. Max is 5! He was so super excited to turn five. I don't recall the girls ever being as excited for a birthday as he was. Don't get me wrong, they get excited too, but Max really thought turning five was going to open up many doors for him. He told me he didn't really need to be mothered anymore, he could play in the street and was ready to get a job and start helping out at the local John Deere dealer. Today, however, he decided being five was AWFUL and he'd give anything to be four again. Because when you're four, you don't need 5 year shots! So, here we are,four bandaids and an empty bag of chocolate licorice later, reflecting on whether being 5 is really all that!

FIVE.
