After a somewhat restless, but uneventful night, we went to the doctor. Didn't get to see any of the five different doctors we saw at the hospital, or our regular doctor. Grrr! She did some basic neurological testing and answered our two big questions.....is it normal how weak he is? (yes) and when can he go back to school (for sure not until after Monday's appointment, this time with our regular doctor). He is so shaky and requires that we hold his hand while he walks. Not sure how much is mental and how much is physical. She said not to push him and continue to let him rest as much as he wants. That appointment wore him out and he went right to sleep when we got home and took a 2.5 hour nap. He woke up feeling good, ate lunch, worked on making a sport book by cutting and gluing pictures from magazines, did some legos and got to see his buddy Elliot. By the time Elliot left he was exhausted and having tummy pain. We are assuming this pain is his digestive system just getting used to food again. The goal tonight: poop! Miralax to the rescue!
He continues to have a low grade fever, hovering around 99 and 100, but sometimes getting up to 101, which shows that the virus is still active in his system. The doctor said today that if the fever hasn't subsided by Monday there will likely be more tests, probably an MRI:(
